We are dedicated to addressing concerns and providing support, ranging from appointment questions to assisting families in preparing for end-of-life care. About six years ago, my husband became critically ill with complications from congestive heart failure and required care in the cardiac ICU. It was an extremely emotional and confusing time, but we were incredibly fortunate to have Jody who was a knowledgeable cardiac nurse. She became our Nurse Advocate—helping us understand his condition and communicating effectively with providers and other care team members. She helped guide us on important decisions, and supported our entire family through a very difficult period.
